| I'm a bagpipe player and teacher, and I send my students to Ian Ford for Tru-Tone bagpipe practice chanters. These are some of the few practice chanters with a significant tuning range; therefore, allowing you to play with other practice chanters in approx. Bb, the traditional pitch of most other makers, or in A 440 with other "standard scale" instruments. Very importantly, the feel of the Tru-Tone chanter has fairly wide finger spacing and well-reamed holes, so the feel is similar to the full Highland bagpipe. I have ordered other items from Ford, and I'd say they've been good values. If the price was "thrifty" the quality was too. (I'm thinking of a horse hair sporran I bought. I also later learned that these sporrans are seldom worn outside the military.) |

| Food for Thought was created and owned by a local glass artist in SJC. They featured almost all American Hand Crafted Items and her fused glassware. Sometime in 2004 I understand she and her husband (who ran the gallery) moved to Colorado and sold the gallery. The person that I met who said he was the new owner was a jerk and knew nothing about handcrafted work. over a short period of time the gallery became an import shop of junk. I stopped going there. I did drive by recently to find it is gone. No surprise. Too bad a great thing came to an end. |

| This is THE PLACE to find unique gifts. I always find something when I visit this cute, clean, fun shop. The people who work there are really nice and friendly! All of the gifts are high quality. I really love the Chamilia charms. They have the best selection in town. |
